Teahupoo
Teahupoo is a village on the southeast coast of the island of Tahiti which is known for its glassy reef break wave –probably the most famous wave in the world. In order to portray the phenomenon of the seascape, Cristobal evaded representation in favor of emotion. Without unnecessary detail, the images can be experienced on a different, more intuitive, level. The idea is not to capture a specific, single moment in time, but to focus on the ocean as an eternal element and the feelings it evokes.
